REVIEW by Heather: The Fireman Who Loved Me by Jennifer Bernard (@Jen_Bernard , @_shoe_girl_)

Fearless, smoking hot, and single: meet the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel. These firemen might be heroes, but it’s their bad luck in love that makes them legendary.

News producer Melissa McGuire and Fire Captain Harry Brody couldn’t be more different, though they do have one thing in common: they’re both convinced they’re perfectly wrong for each other. But when Melissa’s matchmaking grandmother wins her a date with Brody at a Bachelor auction…

Sparks fly. Passion flares. Heat rises. (You get the picture.)

Add a curse, a conniving nightly news anchor, a stunningly handsome daredevil fireman, a brave little boy, a couple of exes, and one giant fire to the mix, and Melissa and Brody’s love may not be the only thing that burns.

Another novel I picked up because of the flashy “new series/low price” logo (yeah, I’m a sucker for good marketing) and honestly, I’m glad!  I really enjoyed this book!  It was a quick, easy, steamy, fun read!!!

Melissa thinks Nelly (her meddling grandmother) must have made a mistake.  The Hilton?  Why would they meet at the Hilton?  Oh, well.  Melissa goes in to find Nelly only to encounter a mad rush of single women who are ready to bid on San Gabriel’s hottest commodity….the gorgeous, single firefighters!  The leader of them all? Nelly, with her front row seat and wad of cash!!  Melissa is not having any of it; she leaves.  Only to find out that Nelly now expects her to go on a date with “Number 5” (the fireman she “bought”).

Brody can see that Ryan is quickly tiring of all the teasing from the rest of the crew about being “bought” by an old woman and quickly steps in before things get out of hand.  Somehow, he is talked into taking Ryan’s place and going on the date for him.  When he arrives to pick up Nelly for their date, he is shocked that it will be Melissa, not Nelly that he is supposed to take out.

After dinner, some dancing, arguing about each others respective careers, and a pretty steamy kiss, Melissa and Brody end the date expecting to never see each other again.  Wrong.  Nelly has other plans for the two.

Loved this book, and already bought book two, Hot for Fireman!!
