Breaking up is hard to do, as Kathleen Turner discovers. After a falling-out with her ex, high-powered attorney Blane Kirk, she’s moving on the best she can. Unfortunately, someone from her past is set on revenge and nothing short of killing Kathleen will stop them.
Keeping his brother’s ex-girlfriend alive isn’t something new to assassin-for-hire Kade Dennon, but this time can he protect her from himself? She’s a woman he can’t convince himself to walk away from, no matter what it costs him.
Regret is a constant companion for Blane as he realizes the truth behind the lies he’s been told. Can love heal the past, or can some mistakes not be undone?
Murder reunites Blane, Kade, and Kathleen as the police put Blane in their crosshairs. Blane may lose everything unless he and Kade can find the real murderer before it’s too late. But if they can’t set aside their love for the same woman and work together, it will tear them apart.
In Out of Turn, Kathleen is caught between two warring brothers, and the consequences may be fatal.
This series has had me hooked from the very start. From Kathleen falling into the crotch of the rich, sexy and powerful attorney Blane Kirk, to meeting his equally rich and gorgeous brother, assassin for hire Kade Dennon, combined with their magnetism to danger and all things that go bang, well, its kind hard to deny the attraction. Ya know?
Out of Turn is the fourth installment in this heart stopping series, and to think its coming to and end with Point Of No Return, well, it’s painfully tragic for me to be honest.
Kathleen has so many obstacles in Out of Turn, the most difficult….herself. She has known in her heart for quite sometime the feelings that burn deep within, but chooses to ignore them, sacrificing her own heart for the two people she loves the most. And I love her for it. Being a selfless person is difficult especially when it comes to the subject of your own heart, yet she surrenders, knowing the complexity she faces moving forward. Kathleen has a big decision to make, and I can’t wait to see how her journey ends.
Blane struggles with regret and decisions he has made regarding his relationship with Kathleen, and he should. However, at the time I think he acted as any normal human being would given the situation. He had a trusted family member with proof. What more could you need? Nevertheless, Blane has acknowledged his mistake, has apologized for his misstep in judgment, and continues to keep a firm grasp on the absolute reality that lies ahead.
Kade has started a new ‘business’ and is thinking more about his future than ever before. And for Kade, that’s a big deal. He has finally laid all his cards on the table and allowed someone to touch him where no one else ever has. His heart. Kade is delicious, and insanely witty as always and I found myself highlighting everything he said to reference later for my review. What can I say? I just can’t get enough of Kade Dennon. Says the lady in the ‘I heart Kade’ t-shirt as she takes a bite of her Moon Pie and tosses back a shot of vodka.
I feel I’m being vague very here, and to keep this review spoiler free, I have to be. However, I can tell you my one big thought after I read each chapter. It goes like this:
Chapter 1 – You go girl!
Chapter 2 – Oh snap!
Chapter 3 – Be still my beating heart….
Chapter 4 – And so it begins….
Chapter 5 – Lots of eyebrow raising… wink wink
Chapter 6 – Burning Red
Chapter 7 – To infinity and beyond….
Chapter 8 – Bad timing award indeed!
Chapter 9 – Baby you’re a firework.
Chapter 10 – * shakes head* Oh no he didn’t!
Chapter 11 – Oh brother where are thou?
Chapter 12 – *takes a quick break to steal a kiss from my hubby.* In the closet!
Chapter 13 – I like buttons and I cannot lie.
Chapter 14 – Friends in low places.
Chapter 15 – Call of duty.
Chapter 16 – Signed, sealed, delivered.
Chapter 17 – Another one bites the dust.
Chapter 18 – Black Hawk Down.
Okay, yeah, not helpful I know, but it’s the best I can do.
I immensely love the series, and Out Of Turn is my favorite to date. I couldn’t seem to put it down and just when I thought I might sneak in a few mommy and wife obligations, something happened that had me clutching my Kindle harder and reading faster.
I recommend this book to everyone. It’s an intoxicating thrill, full of mystery, two hot guys with sharp tongues, and a girl who tames them both.
