RELEASE DAY REVIEW by Lorna: Silver Wolf Clan (Silver Wolf Clan #1) by Tera Shanley (@terashanley,@Mollykatie112)

916ReSwcf+L._SL1500_Loving him will be legendary…if she can survive it.
What happens when monsters turn out to be real? One summer night while camping in the woods, Morgan Carter finds out in a big way. A tall mysterious stranger, Greyson Crawford, risks his life to try and save her sister from the vicious wolf attacking their camp. When he’s bitten and disappears into the night, Morgan can only assume the worst.
Greyson shows up a year later, and he’s a different animal altogether. His eye color shifts constantly and the rumble in his throat sounds more animal than human. She hasn’t any idea where he’s been all this time, but a good guess as to what he’s become.
Grey is determined not to let the darkness of his new existence affect Morgan and the little girl in her care. He hasn’t been able to stop thinking about Morgan but knows he should stay away and let her live a normal life. That’s easier said than done, though. A new danger pulls him from the shadows to keep her safe, and he’s no wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Can she accept what lurks just below his surface? More importantly, can she survive him?

This was one of those books that I knew almost immediately that I wouldn’t be able to put it down and I was right. I had never read anything by this author but you can bet I will be checking out the rest of her work! I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Grey is camping one night and hears screams. A horrific attack is happening and during the ensuing fight with what he thinks is a monster, he is bitten. But he does save one of the women, and a child. He undergoes very painful changes and becomes the very monster he was fighting, a werewolf. When he awakes, he is alone, far away from the attack scene and worse for him, he doesn’t know where or who the woman is, but he knows his wolf wants her.

What I liked about this book:
The Premise. For a change, the main character is a man and that was refreshing. We get to see how he handles being a wolf, being alone and having no idea if there are others like him. Not to worry, the Dallas pack soon realizes that there is a rogue wolf around and comes calling. So we also get to see him bond with a pack, and also realize that he is even more dominate(alpha), then the pack alpha, Dean.

The characters. Grey is a dominate werewolf on his own, can’t control his wolf, and is just managing to hang on to life. He’s the total alpha package, but he’s also very protective of what is his. And the woman from the attack scene, Morgan, realizes that she wants Grey even before he changes. I guess some would call it insta-love, but actually it was pretty much a mate thing. For whatever reason, they do meet up again. I also enjoyed reading about the other members of the pack and knew immediately that there was going to be more drama with them in future books-at least I hope so!
The actual story. I got sucked right in almost immediately. I wanted to see how Grey would navigate the world as a newly changed wolf. I needed to see him find Morgan again. Of course I wanted to see their Happily Ever After. There’s lots of creative problems thrown both of their ways to add to the story by the author.
The world building. The werewolf lore explored here concerns the Silver Wolf. Because of spoilers, that’s all I am saying. Suffice it to say that it was interesting and exceedingly different from most werewolf books I have read.

What didn’t I like about this book:
I am still thinking. I really can’t even think of anything that bothered me or struck me wrong while reading this book.

Who do I recommend this book to:
Young adults 16 plus, to adult readers that enjoy paranormal romance.

I found this book to be well written, with a good premise and story, and I am really glad there are going to be several more books. The reason? Well because of spoilers, I can’t really say, but things did happen that I am interested in reading more about. I will be watching for the next book!
