This book, the second standalone historical romance in the series, centers around the characters of Horatia and Lucien. Horatia is the sister of Cedric, one of the members of the League of Rogues. The League is a group of rakes, or bad Victorian era boys, who have hearts of gold buried deep within and a bond that can’t be broken or bent. HIS WICKED SEDUCTION is about how Horatia has fallen in love with Lucien, Cedric’s very close friend, and how it seems he never gives her the time of day. It’s also Lucien’s side of the story, how he’d fallen for Horatia and how his stubbornness almost cost him the love of his life.
In addition to a series of small problems in their path, there is one larger, shadowy problem in the midst of everything: Hugo Waverly, a rival of the League. He blames the League for a tragic accident that happened years in the past when they attended university together, even though they almost lost one of their own that same night. Will Lucien be able to have his own happily-ever-after with his soulmate, or will the League’s code of honor and sinister forces keep him from having it?
All in all, HIS WICKED SEDUCTION was a fabulous read. It was just as good as the first installment in the series but read as a standalone. HIS WICKED SEDUCTION has a solid, entertaining plot. It’s a classic romance with a dash of adventure, and of course it has heart and a lot of sweet, heartfelt moments you can get lost in.
