Writing since the age of seven (so many stories about dolphins), AMY BABIARZ has long used storytelling as both a creative outlet and a form of advocacy. Her work tackles mental health stigma and brings attention to everyday social justice issues, all through the lens of deeply human, emotionally honest fiction. Whether it’s exploring grief, identity, resilience, or relationships, she writes with heart, humor, and the hope that she can inspire people to be their most authentic selves.

Nestled in the beautiful (and sometimes wildly unpredictable) state of Vermont, Amy shares her home with her unendingly supportive wife and a menagerie of four-legged critters. By day, she supports others as a social worker. By night (and occasionally very early morning), she’s hard at work on her next novel—usually with a cat on her keyboard, a dog at her feet, and a cup of coffee cooling beside her. No matter the story, you can count on finding sharp insight, rich characters, and—somewhere, somehow—a cameo by her cat, who insists on it.
