Jazz can’t decide whether to scorch him with a fireball or jump into bed with him.
Jasmine Tremaine, a witch who can’t stay out of trouble.
Nikolai Gregorivich, a drop-dead gorgeous vampire cop on the trail of a serial killer.
The sizzling love affair between Jazz and Nick has been off-again, on-again-for about 300 years. Mostly off, lately. But now Nick needs Jazz’s help, and while Jazz and Nick try to figure out their own hearts and resist their ever-increasing attraction, they must steer clear of a maniacal killer with super-supernatural powers. They are surrounded by a hilarious cast of oddball paranormal characters, including Irma, the chain-smoking ghost who haunts Jazz’s sports car, Dweezil, her ghoul of a boss, and Fluff and Puff, a pair of bunny slippers with sharp teeth and short tempers (watch your ankles)!
I picked up Hex Appeal MONTHS ago….so long ago, I can’t remember how many months ago! When I got it home, I realized it was part of a series, and since the bookstore didn’t have the first one (I went back & checked), it sat on my “tbr” pile. A few weeks ago, I came across 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover (the 1st in the series) as an ebook for FREE! SCORE! At last, I could *finally* get started! 😉
This is the first book of this type (paranormal/comedy/romance) that I have read, and is my FIRST book with witches. I think I like it! Jazz & some of her witch sisters have been banished from witch school (it reminds me of Hogwarts) for bad behavior. Living among the mortal world, Jazz makes a living by getting rid of “curses” and by being a chauffeur to “other kinds” (vampires, etc).
While trying to go among her daily life, Jazz is once again faced with Nick. Nick, her former lover who happens to be a vampire. They apparently have a long history together, which is NOT explained in any kind of detail in the book (which makes it seem like this isn’t the 1st in the series). Kind of irritating, trying to guess as to what their history entails, exactly, but not so irritating that it distracts from what its currently going on.
Jazz and Nick have to put their differences aside (he likes to have her thrown in jail), and put a stop to whatever/whomever is responsible for all the vampire disappearances…all while putting up with a nagging ghost, man eating bunny slippers, and a client that’s smell will make a skunk run in the opposite direction!
50 Ways is a very fluffy, easy read, and I can’t wait to start the 2nd book!
I give 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover 3 1/2 Heels!
