REVIEW by Dolly: The Eldritch Conspiracy (Blood Singer Series, #5 ) by Cat Adams (@CathyClamp , @fidget78)

She’s getting death threats from fanatics who want to see the whole Siren race wiped out—including Celia herself, who is half Siren.

Luckily, Celia is on duty when a trip to a bridal salon is interrupted by an assassination attempt, so everyone survives. When Adriana returns to the Siren homeland to try to prevent a coup, Celia is free to hunt for the terrorists and the vile mage who is helping them (while keeping her eyes open for the perfect maid-of-honor dress).

Assuming the bride and groom both live to see their wedding day, this will be one royal wedding no one will ever forget.

Nonstop action, kick ass heroine, and an intriguing story lines make The Eldritch Conspiracy an excellent addition to the Blood Singer Series.

Cat Adams’ (writing team of Cathy Clamp and C. T. Adams) new novel is everything you could ask for in a novel. While you could probably read The Eldritch Conspiracy as a stand alone, why would you even want to? The whole Blood Singer Series is a must read for any Urban Fantasy reader, in my opinion.

Celia Graves is part vampire and part Siren. Yes, really. It works extremely well together. She’s a body guard and her vampire abilities help in this area. As a Siren, she has an allure to men able to bear children, not just have sex. A different twist.

The first chapter is a shocker. Yep, it was, and I actually felt my mouth drop open on where the author took one of the story lines. To
tell the truth, I was pretty pissed. Now you have to read it, right?

That’s the wonder of this series; I’m deeply invested in each and every character. I wanted to smack a couple of characters. No, I wanted to knee a couple of characters and pull out the hair on a few others.

Okay, I feel better now. Celia’s troubles seem to come one behind the other. Take a deep breath and dig in. You won’t remember to breathe for a while. We have spawn, a cult, jealous women and stupid men (maybe not completely stupid but some definite chauvinistic traits).

Through everything, Celia holds it together and with a teeny bit of help, she overcomes. Is she happy? I’m really not sure. I feel she’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. The story is an up and down and sideways trip through just a few days in her life while guarding a Siren princess, Adrianna, who’s preparing for a State wedding. Celia becomes a target due to her Siren blood. A body guard who has body guards. Not kidding. Have I peaked your interest??

The Eldritch Conspiracy is very well written. (I wouldn’t expect less of Ms Adams). The world building continues in a logical thought out theme. The characters are growing or showing truer colors. The story line is extremely well plotted and moving right along. The novel isn’t a beach read. If you try it, you might end up badly sunburned. If life hadn’t intruded, I would have tried to read this in one sitting. I could never find a good stopping point.

I’m hoping and have my fingers crossed for another installment later this year. Pretty please Ms Adams??
