The concept of this book sounded amazing. The execution….was good. I’m not sure exactly why I didn’t love the book, but it was good. Anyways!
West has lost every member of her family; the only person she has left is family friend, Chord. After things go wrong during Chord’s completion (assignment), West realizes that she needs more training before her own assignment than she’s going to get in school, and a professor gives her a way to get that training. Only problem: the training comes from a very unconventional (and illegal) method. Upon beginning her new training, West receives notice that it is time for her own assignment.
Faced with having to complete training AND finish her own assignment, West pushes Chord away and sets out on her own. Hopefully she’ll find her Alt before her Alt finds her.
Overall, a good story, and if there is a part two, I’ll definitely pick it up!
