REVIEW by Trish: You Are A Dream (Lizard Queen #4) by H.L. Cherryholmes (@HLCherryholmes)

814eCdhVYSL._SL1500_Word has spread across all the nations that the prophesied Lacáruna has arrived to initiate the next expansion of this world. Although Amy Darlidale has passed tests of wits and endurance far beyond what she imagined possible, she struggles for insight into the role she is presumably intended to play in the fate of this world.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that an all-out war is being waged by opposing factions—the Arañalianza, bent on making certain that the prophecy is never brought to pass, and the Trotéjo, sworn to make certain it does. A new Trotéjo comrade, isolated for too long to provide any meaningful direction but notably dedicated to the cause, pushes Amy and her band of protectors forward in the search for more clues.

As the range of the powers of Lacáruna continue to manifest, Amy is no longer the only one seeing visions. But nothing in her imagination can prepare her for coming face to face with the greatest nemesis of all.

I didn’t want it to end.

And, it didn’t. There are more books coming based on how this one went. I’m very much looking forward to them. So, that being said…

Wow, I loved this one. Up until this point, we had a lot of traveling, a lot of learning about the world, building of tension, of intrigue. In You Are the Dream, we get a solid dose of action, and then some more, and then some more. There’s betrayal from unexpected quarters. There’s even strong and long-awaited glimmers of romance. Finally!

Travel is still a major feature, but it’s adventure mode travel, so I found it much more exciting. And the richness of the world is outstanding. I love the sprinkling of the Spanish and Spanish-like words. All of it’s consistently and naturally applied to the dialog and even how Amy thinks. She corrects herself occasionally.

Is Amy still headstrong? Yes. Does that still get her into trouble? Definitely. Just as in the last books, I picked up on the looming ending, not because of the percentage noted at the bottom of the Kindle screen, but by the wave of foolish actions by our hero, Amy. She always gets a bit stupid and headstrong near the end of the books in this series. This time, it was a lot more exciting, though. Ends in epic fashion and sets up for number five (can’t wait).

I did notice some errors in the text, such as missing words or missing letters from verbs (changing the tense unintentionally), but they weren’t overwhelming. Just a few here and there.

Overall, I loved this installment. Folks who have enjoyed the first three will likely enjoy this one even more. This book is perfect for those who like fantasies with links to the modern day, parallel worlds and myths/legends unique to a fantasy world. I’m really on the edge of my seat waiting on the next installments.
