Dan Lemon is a man of routine who has unknowingly lost his way. One fateful afternoon at work, he is introduced to three criminals who take him hostage and shake up his schedule.
Dan now only has one choice, to confront his life’s fears, failings and wants. Is one day enough to change your life?

Dan is a sweet man. I like his character in When Life Hands You a Lemon, he grows on you through reading the book. He is in his mid 40s, has two children, a wife, doesn’t have sex often, steady job. Typical suburban nightmare, in my view anyway.
One day at work something happens to change all of that.
I like that the writer, Mike Hansen, gives Dan his flaws and through his memories explores those. It is deeply psychological. The thrust of the humour comes from the smart ass conversations that are had, they are dry. These can be repetitive and there is far too much dialogue, this could be a stage play. There are wacky characters that I wasn’t so such afraid of but found them amusing instead. This is a difficult book to take seriously and well worth reading for the end pages.
Definitely one to read if you like humour.

About Mike Hansen
I was born on December 26th of 1980. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago in an ordinary house, on an ordinary street, in an ordinary sub-division of an ordinary town. I started writing early, maybe as therapy, maybe not. I always thought I would be a good artist. It turned out that I couldn’t draw.
I graduated from Purdue University in 2003 with a degree in Creative Writing and Film Studies. Let’s throw a minor in Communications for good measure. For the last 10 years I have been practicing the craft, whether it be poetry, scripts, blogging or novels.
You can find me on most social networks practicing anti-social behavior, yet welcoming you in with a warm heart. I have an incredibly beautiful wife, that I met at Purdue, and two kids with the best idiosyncrasies imaginable.
Please to enjoy.
