College student wolf shifters? Yes, that’s partially what this book was about, but it’s also about a female shifter on the run from her ex-boyfriend that wants to force her into a marriage that only he wants. It’s also about a lone wolf shifter that helps find alternate lives for shifters on the run and then acclimates them. Evidently there’s quite the need for this service in this world the author has built.
Natasha is a much loved wolf shifter that resides with her parents. One night her ex shows up to force her into marriage-and he doesn’t care who he hurts to do it. Natasha escapes, travels across county and arrives in California to start over. There, Liam takes her under his wing and finds her a home with another of his charges, Cara. Natasha is heartbroken about her parents fate at Daniel’s hand. Liam pretty much forces her to buck up and get on with life. To that end, she enrolls in college under a new name, Asha.
Liam was an interesting character. He’s a motorcycle guy, and a mechanic, but his real thing is to help other shifters, for very little money. He’s a really nice guy(one with a temper ), but a loner in a world where being part of a pack is everything. Natasha is twenty, beautiful, smart, rich, and a nice girl as well. She’s everything that Liam wants, but knows he will never have. He thinks this, anyway.
This was more a novella than book at 129 pages, but since the story started out in a compelling way, it never felt like a novella to me. The main characters were fully realized, and a few of the lesser characters were fairly well developed as well. I still have things I want to know about some of these characters and hope they show up in the next installments of this series. I enjoyed the premise, and thought the pacing was spot on-particularly the beginning, as the story began with full on, edge of your seat, action. Of course that wasn’t the only action sequence to be had here. The romance and chemistry between the two was developed, and I did like that as well. There is a twist I never saw coming and only one too stupid to live act on the heroine’s part which wasn’t that bad, although it was one I saw coming a mile away.
I am looking forward to the next in this series as I hope Cara shows up for more, and I’d like to see more of Clint, the typical California surfer dude wolf shifter, as well. Recommended to adult paranormal romance readers. Good read.

Oooh… I love it when a story, that is so short, can have a great storyline and such well fleshed out characters. Sounds like the relationship between Natasha and Liam developed nicely.
Yes, this was a pretty good read. I do wish it had been a bit longer but oh well.
