Ariadne Daniels seems to have it all: A successful career as a pastry chef, a Victorian home in a trendy neighborhood, and her dedicated boyfriend Scott who she’s been with for years.
Her life is great until the day she stops by Scott’s apartment to surprise him and finds out that he’s not so dedicated to her after all. Shocked and too depressed to celebrate, she decides to skip Christmas. Her best friend Jess does his part to convince her otherwise, but Ariadne’s determined to wallow in her misery, at least until spring.
Life has other plans for her, however. Some helpful meddling from a new friend at a local bookstore, along with some questionable behavior on the part of Jess’s girlfriend, turn Ariadne’s ho-hum holiday plans on their head.

Right Under Your Nose is a cool little love story about a gal, her best friend, and a mysterious benefactor who turns their lives around.
This story is a lot of fun. Ariadne is someone you want to cheer for, likeable. Jess is, too. Based on the genre and the description, it’s obvious these two should be together, but they don’t have a clue. Even so, the way they come to that conclusion is anything but expected. I can’t say anything more because I don’t want to spoil it.
I guess the one thing I didn’t like was the main character’s name. I still have no idea how Ariadne is supposed to be pronounced. My mind kept supplying Adrianne, despite my efforts otherwise.
Overall, I loved this story. It has all the elements of a good, clean romance, a bit of the supernatural, and plenty of drama, all in a compact package. I highly recommend this to folks who dig romance and chick lit.
