Code of Conduct

Alex Coleman has no resources and no disciplinary structure to fall back on. All he can rely on is bare-knuckled leadership and his own determination to reach freedom.

Long months into his stay at the top-secret Russian prisoner of war camp the inmates have nicknamed “Club Med,” Alex Coleman is no stranger to hardship and brutality. He’s endured torture and betrayal. He’s led the other prisoners through one failed escape attempt, and he’s not afraid to try another. Most importantly, he’s so far resisted every effort Colonel Nikolin made to wrench top secret information out of him.

Here's the problem: Alex is—or was, he supposes—the top submariner in the world. He knows the technical ins and outs of American submarines as well as every tactic the Grand Alliance employs underwater. And the enemy knows this.

Alex knows he must hold the line. As the senior officer in the camp, he must set an example for the others. He must lead these people…no matter what it takes. He may be alone, with no submarine, no crew, and few friends, but Alex Coleman has never known how to back down from a challenge. He’s going to save his people, or he’ll die trying.

But the world is three years deep into the Third World War. Alex has no idea what’s happening outside his prison camp, where his fellow submariners are fighting to fill the gap he’s left behind. Who can step up? Who will fail? And what will happen to his old crew now that they have a new commander?

CODE OF CONDUCT, the nineth military thriller novel in the War of the Submarine series by R.G. Roberts.
