By now, hopefully, you’ve read my review of Kiss of Pride and you might be wondering why I continued on with the series. If the first in a series holds my attention, I will try the second.

I’m very glad I decided to read Kiss of Surrender. I expected a carbon copy of Kiss of Pride and that WASN’T what I got. Surprise!

This second installment had more depth and was more current and believable. The series is about 7 Viking brothers who all suffer from one of the 7 Deadly Sins. They are called Vangels (Vampire Angels). They fight against Lucifer’s demons called lucipires.

The protagonist in Kiss of Surrender is Trond, who’s sin is sloth. He is a well developed and thought out character. He’s in the Navy Seals but as a member of Norway’s Special Forces. His “love interest” is Lt Nicole Sasso. She’s a member of the Navy Weals (they work in conjunction with the Seals). The chemistry between the two is at times hot and other, funny. They work. I like them as a pair. Vangels, however, TRY to avoid breaking any of The Commandments. Something new, a paranormal love story with no sex. The Vangels do enjoy Almost Sex and find new ways to have almost sex which is giggle worthy.

As you can tell, I really enjoyed Kiss of Surrender. A good easy read. So if you’ve read Kiss of Pride and thought it was okay or were underwhelmed, try this one. You’ll be surprised.

My rating:  3.90 (yes, I’m getting that picky)
