Janes HarmonyStarting over is hard to do.
That’s what forty-year-old Jane McKinney learns when she quits her job, sells her home, and leaves Seattle behind to start a new life and pursue the man she loves in Austin. After the death of her daughter, Melody, Jane never thought she would find happiness again—until she met Caleb Cummings. Sensitive, loving, and mature beyond his years, Caleb is a handsome young musician struggling to make ends meet. But when his fortunes take an unexpected and drastic turn for the better, Jane is left wondering where exactly she fits in.
Can you ever leave the past behind? Jane must now decide if she really is willing to commit to a new beginning with Caleb—or if some wounds are just too deep to ever truly mend.

When I read Jane’s Melody, I totally fell in love with the story of Jane and her love, Caleb. Jane is forty, while Caleb is twenty four, but two better people to be together would be hard to find. I was afraid that I wasn’t going to be happy with this sequel because, let’s face it, not all sequels live up to the first book. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Jane and Caleb are still living in Austin, Caleb is still playing his music part time, and Jane is still looking for work. They are living in near poverty, in a tiny apartment with no air conditioning in the middle of a Texas summer. This twosome and their connection, their romance, proves that love can conquer just about anything. When Caleb gets the chance of a lifetime to compete in a reality music show in California, the question becomes, will this cause the two to break up, or is their love enough?

What I liked about this book:
The characters of Jane and Caleb were wonderfully written by the author. The reader gets drawn into their world and can’t stop reading. I certainly couldn’t put it down! Their romance (both books) is now one of my new favorites that I have read-that’s really saying a lot for me. This brings me to the premise. This couple meets because of the death of Jane’s daughter due to drugs. The fact that he kind of knew her daughter and is closer to the daughter’s age, was the main obstacle that needed to be overcome in the first book. This time is more them learning to be together regardless of the conditions, whether it’s because of the summer heat, the lack of money, or Caleb’s extended absence in California. I also enjoyed reading it from both of the main character’s points of view. This way we get to see all of what happens to Caleb in California. If you have ever wondered about being behind the scenes at a reality music show, the author’s vision of this certainly delivers.

What I didn’t like about this book:
Yes-I am leaving this part blank because I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about this book!

Who would I recommend this book to?
Adult romance readers, but I would recommend reading the first book first. It’s not completely necessary, but would help with all of the back story the reader needs in order to completely enjoy the read. And in case you are wondering, it’s definitely not for young adults.

This book was a very sensual romance, but had a really good story to go along with that. It was a quick, easy read, but that’s probably because it was such a page turner for me, I loved both of these books and applaud the author for bringing to life these engaging characters and this wonderfully written romantic journey.
