As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it’s booze, drugs, or women. This is the third installment of the hugely popular, Stage Dive books. Up this time, Jimmy, the lead singer of the rock group Stage Dive. Having read the previous two books as well, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this one, as Jimmy hasn’t been my favorite character. All I can say is it was fine and I shouldn’t have fretted a minute.
Jimmy is a superstar rocker that is known as much for his drug/alcohol abuse, as he is for his good looks and singing voice. Now six months sober, the group hires Lena to pretty much babysit him-or officially, be his assistant. Since these are all romances, it isn’t hard to guess what comes next, right? Not really, at least not at first. Jimmy is a closed off and difficult man,one who has been deeply wounded by a horrible upbringing. Lena is running from her family, specifically her sister who is now engaged to her ex-boyfriend-and no they were not broke up when her sister hooked up with him. She went out on her own and takes the job after getting fired by an idiot, right in front of the members of the group. Lena has her hands full with Jimmy at times, but she really does like her job, but she likes Jimmy even more.
I loved the characters of Jimmy and Lena. Jimmy was so complex, so afraid of getting hurt, afraid of love, and really deep down lonely. Lena has sworn off men after several bad relationships, but she’s a whole lot stronger then Jimmy, and fairly early on knows what she wants. Getting what she wants, is a big part of the premise of this book. One word. Jimmy. All the characters from the previous books are back, and I liked that we get to see more of them than what you usually see in a series book. Since Mal is one of my favorite characters from the series, I was glad he had at least a small role to play in this book as well. He is the comic relief for both the band, and the series, and almost always makes me laugh. Although the scene that I laughed right out loud at this time, was not about Mal at all, and is solely a Jimmy/Lena scene dealing with a table. Enough said!
If you like rocker romances, you can’t miss with this series. It was a really quick, easy, and at times sensual read, and I enjoyed it immensely. I would recommend this to adult romance readers.
