I thought this book was delightful. Clutch, the ghost, haunts Telly, a down on his luck fellow who is trying and failing to become a professional poker player.

First off, I love how Clutch is both dissatisfied ghost who fails to move on and mischievous poltergeist who likes to take advantage of his anonymous form to do what he wants. Telly, too, is a likeable fellow, and I loved most his sense of right and wrong. The two together make a pretty good team, though Clutch seems to be a bad influence.

The story is short, but good. I took just a few hours spread over a couple of days to finish it, but they were well spent. The plot is solid and more complex than the corny title would imply, and I found it to be a satisfying read with a solid ending.

Overall, I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about this story. It’s a good mix of humor, personal growth, and competition, all in a quick ghost story set in Las Vegas. I’d highly recommend this to folks who enjoy ghost stories of the lighter variety.
