NEWS: Urban Fantasy Nerds! Mercy Thompson & Harry Dresden Are Going Graphic! (@Mercys_Garage, @LongShotAuthor)

Someone was feeling incredibly ambitious today! Dynamite dropped four press releases today for the urban fantasy nerd in me, but only two of them really rocked my world.  First on the docket, a brand new, all original Mercy Thompson graphic novel from the brilliant UF mastermind Patricia Briggs!  Second on the docket is two, YES, TWO, new graphic novels from the Harry Dresden world by Jim Butcher!  Although it’s not the first time either series has gone graphic, it’s always fun to learn there’s more on the way.  Also in the mix with these bits of news is Brandon Sanderson and Dean Koontz.  Sanderson’s will be a brand new project called White Sand.  For Koontz, their announcement was actually a deal expansion.  To add to your Koontz collection, you will soon have the graphic novels for Frankenstein, Christopher Snow, and Nevermore.  More details when you keep reading!  I am so frikkin excited right now!  – Jena

This all new story is called “Hopcross Jilly”. In Hopcross Jilly, Mercy Thompson, shapeshifting coyote and member of the Tri-Cities werewolf pack, stumbles upon the buried bones of numerous dead children, and is soon hip deep in the mystery of a legendary fae–a mystery that could be the death of her!
Hopcross Jilly is an original story written by Patricia Briggs. Writer Rik Hoskins is on board to script the comics, and Tom Garcia is delivering the stunning artwork to this new series. The first issue of the 6-issue series is shipping monthly from Dynamite beginning in October, and will be available both digitally and in print. The graphic novel collection will be published in 2015.

JIM BUTCHER SIGNS DEAL WITH DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT
2 NEW ORIGINAL DRESDEN FILES GRAPHIC NOVELS TO HIT STORES IN NEXT TWO YEARS
May 29th, 2014, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment is pleased to announce its expanded agreement with New York Times Bestselling Jim Butcher to create two additional all-new original graphic novels based on The Dresden Files.
Dynamite published the best-selling Original Graphic Novel “Ghoul Goblin”, an all-new, original story that takes place in the official continuity of the Dresden Files novels, subsequent to the events in the 2nd novel “Fool Moon”, to critical and commercial acclaim in 2013. The Ghoul Goblin gn was a top seller over the 2013 Holidays, and continues to move copies at a brisk pace online and in brick and mortar stores like Barnes and Noble.
Currently in the works is “War Cry” another original story taking place four months after the events depicted in Dead Beat, the 7th novel in the Dresden Files series. The first issue of War Cry ships next month, and the graphic novel will be published later this year.
Two more original Dresden Files graphic novels will be coming in 2015 and 2016. The details around the creative teams and stories in each graphic novel will be announced at a later date.
