A hot, twist-filled, and wickedly funny new second-chance romance.
Life coach and best-selling author Victoria Price has it all: a successful career, fabulous friends, a fantastic penthouse in Manhattan. What she doesn’t have–and doesn’t want–is a husband. Fifteen years ago her high school flame broke her heart so badly she swore she’d never love again. Now she makes millions teaching other women how to be just like her: a ruthless bitch.
Drop-dead sexy restauranteur and infamous playboy Parker Maxwell has only three rules for the women he dates: no questions about his past, no expectations for the future, and no spending the night. When he meets Victoria, however, he’s willing to break his own rules if it means sating the explosive desire she arouses in him. What he doesn’t know is that the alluring Victoria Price used to be the mousy Isabel Diaz, the girl he deflowered and dumped long ago.
Presented with a perfect opportunity for revenge, Victoria decides the game is on. But when her connection with Parker proves more than just skin deep, she has to make a choice: continue with her plan for payback, or risk her career, her reputation, and her heart by taking a second chance on love?
This is a stand-alone novel with no cliffhanger.
Warning: Due to language and sexual situations, this is intended for mature audiences 18+.

If you like second chance romances, this could be a really good read for you. I have read my share of books of this type, but I think Geissinger found a way to make it a very new and different type of second chance romance. I received a copy of this from Net Galley in return for a fair and honest review.
Victoria Price is a bitch. A proven class A bitch, and she has written a whole series of Bitch books to prove it. She’s a best selling author, a life coach to various celebrities, and conducts seminars about empowering woman. She comes by it honestly, after enduring a horrible ordeal while still a teenager, when her beloved (and very rich)boyfriend, Parker, breaks up with her and leaves her brokenhearted. Through a series of events, her entire family suffers due to Parker’s actions. So Victoria makes herself over, and literally becomes a new person. She never thought she would ever see Parker again, but when she does, she immediately goes into revenge mode. On Parker’s part, he doesn’t recognize the new Victoria, all he knows is that he wants her.
What follows is a story of two people that literally can’t stay away from each other. Victoria is biding her time to try and find something to use against Parker to ruin him. Parker can’t figures out why Victoria is familiar, all he knows is that he wants her-forever. Did I mention sexual chemistry? This couple has that oozing from their pores.
I enjoyed the characters of both Victoria and Parker. Victoria isn’t that likable at first, but the more we find out about her background, the more difficult it is not to share in her grief and feelings for revenge towards Parker. Parker? Well, I loved him from minute one in the read. I found it hard to imagine him as a horrible villain. Is he really? What happened back in the past to tear apart these characters that once loved each other so much? It was quite the ride experiencing their journey and I completely enjoyed that ride.
J.T. Geissinger is at her best when she is writing gritty scenes of a sexual nature. Her Night Prowler Series had that in spades-maybe not as much at first-but by the end, it had fully evolved that way. Her rock star series, Bad Habit, started out that way and promises more of the same in future books. Now with this standalone, her sexual scenes are intense and perhaps in all of these series, they just border on erotica-sometimes doing more than border. Geissinger is also what I consider a master storyteller, in that I can’t put her books down, they are just that good and well written.
I would recommend this book, and all of this authors work to adult contemporary romance fans, ones that enjoy a book with a deeper plot than just boy meets girl. Good Read!

I didn’t realize this was a standalone, Lorna. I thought it was part of the Bad Habit series and since I haven’t read the first one in that series yet, I was waiting to one-click this one. I’ll wait no more! 😉 The interactions and tension between Victoria and Parker sound like the makings for a great second chance romance. And you know I love those. 😉
I think this book is right up your alley! 2nd chance and a good romance 🙂
