BLOG TOUR REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY: Bad Blood (Bad Blood #1) by Ginny Lurcock (@ginnylurcock)

Bad Blood Blog Tour - Long Banner

High school senior Victoria “Tori” Reeve has it pretty good. She’s rich, she’s smart, and she’s popular. What more could a girl ask for? Sure, she’s a little lonely, what with being single and her best friend going off to college and all, but she’s got her work at the Spaulding Crisis Center to keep her busy. When she gets a new boss in the very easy on the eyes form of Isaac Larsen, suddenly her volunteer work feels a lot less like work. Even if he does seem to cause Tori to break out into spontaneous fits of foot in mouth disease. Somehow in spite of her blunderitis, Isaac still seems to be interested in her in a more-than-employer or even more-than-friends kind of way.

So really she should have known that things would go sideways.

Trouble comes to Spaulding, and that trouble seems to be centered on Tori and the Crisis Center. Is she really the focus? Or does this all have to do with the new mysterious man in her life? In her efforts to find out, Tori stumbles across some secrets. Skeletons that might have been better off left….

I have been excited about this book release for about a year now and I am happy to say IT’S FINALLY HERE!!!!!  I am fortunate enough to have the honor of being great friends with the author and she allowed me to read Bad Blood when it was still being called “Untitled Vampire Novel”.  And I loved it.  Right out of the gate.

Well, as time has passed and Ginny moved into the world of publishing, she became very serious about getting this book published.  A brain storming session birthed the idea of Bad Blood and it fit so perfectly, there was no hesitation.

About two weeks ago, the fully edited version of Bad Blood hit my desk.  Not really.  It hit my email inbox but whatevs.  The already fantastic novel had been buffed and polished to a shine!  I reread it and here are my thoughts.

Tori is Ginny is Tori is Ginny and on and on and on into infinity.  Ginny Lurcock is a rarity in the writing world.  She possesses this unbelievable talent to write hard emotional situations but also never takes herself too seriously.  The result is a sense of humor that, regardless of what she writes, you can’t miss!  As I read through Bad Blood, it was obvious that Ginny’s sense of humor was poured into this character.  She’s witty and charming and awkward all balled into one.  As a teenager, life is rapidly changing as it is.  Add a cutesy wootsy male best friend and a hot boy in town throwing some attention her way and things start to get a little wonky.  Aaaaaaand queue the uncontrollable laughter….

Solving the big mystery that surrounds this new man in her life and barely being able to keep her hormones in check has Tori getting all mixed up and flustered left and right.  You follow her as she learns things not only about the people surrounding her but also about herself.

Tori isn’t the only great character in this book either.  She’ll make you *gigglesnort* (ßa Ginny Lurcock phrase I happen to love) but she’s not the only one.  This book has a wonderfully entertaining cast all around!  Tori’s habit of expelling verbal vomit when she gets nervous is just HILARIOUS.  My other favorite character is this book is Quinn, hands down.  I don’t want to say too much about Quinn because I don’t want to blow a rather large plot point.

Then there’s the big mystery of the book.  It’s well written and not at all predictable.  And it keeps you guessing right up until the end.

And I LOVE the ending!!!  This was actually reworked from the first time I read it and the new version rocks.  It’s left WIDE OPEN for the series to continue and I, for one, can’t wait to see where this story goes.

Overall, I am giving Bad Blood (Bad Blood #1) a solid 5 stars!  This is a must read that will keep you laughing, even in the midst of the most intense moments you could imagine!

I am so bad at these, that it causes me physical pain.  No wait, that was a splinter…  Never mind.

Ginny Lurcock lives in New Hampshire with her husband whom she adores, her daughter, whom she also adores, and their cat.  Who she likes alright.

Oh, and her father, his two cats, her sister and her sister’s boyfriend.

When not writing she enjoys playing games (of the board and video variety) or reading to the point of obsession (she’s not an addict, she can quit whenever she wants), watching intelligent television, mindless television, sports, movies and listening to music.

Basically, she likes all the things.

And somehow she still manages to find the time to be bored.

She also breaks the seal.
